Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands

HE The Governor Nigel Dakin has been serving as Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands since July 2019.

As the representative of Her Majesty The Queen, Governor Dakin acts as the de facto Head of State responsible for appointing the Head of Government, and senior political positions in the territory. He also chairs the Cabinet and has responsibility for defence, external affairs, the regulation of international financial services and internal security, including the police force.
